Good news: Odisha’s second COVID-19 patient discharged from hospital

Bhubaneswar: Good news about COVID-19 in Odisha as the second COVID-19 positive case in the State has tested negative for the deadly virus during another rounds of tests.

Health and Family Welfare department sources said the man, a resident of Bhubaneswar, has completely recovered and was discharged from AIIMS Hospital today.

As per protocol, discharge of a COVID positive case is considered only after two consecutive samples taken during 24 hours are negative.

Worth mentioning, the second case is 19-year-old and was found to be positive for the deadly virus after his return from the UK.

The department sources further added the first COVID positive person is undergoing treatment at Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar and doing fine. There is no need to panic about his health, they added.

In Odisha, out of 610 samples, four were test positive for COVID-19 till 3 pm on April 1, 2020. However, after the development late evening today, the number of COVID-19 positive cases comes down to three.
