Bhubaneswar:  Here's good news amidst nationwide lockdown in India against COVID-19, as the most popular epic television series of 1980s  'Ramayana' is returning from tomorrow on DD National.

Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayana' will be aired twice a day on Doordarshan from March 28.

Happy to announce that on public demand, we are starting re-telecast of “Ramayana” from tomorrow,Saturday March 28 on DD National, One episode in the morning 9am to 10am, another evening 9pm to 10pm, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar tweeted.

Ramayana written and directed by veteran  filmmakerRamanand Sagar is the most popular TV serial during 1980s. The drama adaptation of Hindu epic 'Valmiki Ramayan and Tulsidas' Ramcharirmanas was being aired during 1987-88 on Doordarshan.

The minister considered to re-telecast the mythological TV serial on public demand during the pandemic situation.
