Bhubaneswar: If everything goes as per the plan, beach shacks will come up at five locations in Odisha.
A proposal in this regard was mooted at a meeting of the Tourism department today. Odisha Chief Minister’s principal advisor Asit Tripathy presided over the meeting.
The Tourism department has proposed to set up at least 15 beach shacks at Gopalpur and Sonapur in Ganjam district, Chandipur and Talasari in Balasore and Paradeep in Jagatsighpur, said an official.
The department has also proposed to launch a cruise vessel in Hirakud reservoir in Sambalpur district to attract tourists to Odisha, he added.
“The infrastructure development work at Harishankar in Bolangir and Nrusingnath in Bargarh will be completed by December this year,” said the official.
The state government has constructed market complex, parking facility, entrance plaza, bathing ghat, toilet block, shops and drinking water facility at the two popular shrines in western Odisha, he added.
