Goods train derails in Odisha; services hit

Jeypore: Train services between Koraput and Visakhapatnam have been disrupted after six bogies of a goods train derailed near Bheja, around 25 km from Koaput railway station in the wee hours today.

Sources said the train carrying iron ore from Kirandul was en-route to Visakhapatnam when the mishap took place at around 3 AM. However, no injury has been reported in the incident.

Following the mishap, a team of railway staff from Koraput was pressed into service for restoration.

Meanwhile, Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Express has been cancelled from both the directions.
