Bhubaneswar: Four wagons of a goods train reportedly derailed near Ambadola in Rayagada district of Odisha today.

However, no one was injured in the mishap. The accident took place on the special tracks connecting Ambadola railway station with Vedanta limited at Lanjigarh in Kalahandi district, sources said.

“The accident took place on the special tracks. So, there was no disruption in the regular railway traffic,” said a source.

On being informed, the authorities concerned have reached the spot and took stock of the situation.

Notably, the incident occurs a few days after a major train mishap near Bahanaga Bazar railway station in Balasore district of Odisha. As many as 291 passengers were killed and 1,200 others sustained injuries in the mishap that occurred on June 2.

Similarly, six labourers died after they were run over by the wagons of a goods train near Jajpur road station June 7.
