Goods train moves ahead leaving 10 wagons behind in Odisha’s Balasore

Bhubaneswar: A goods train reportedly moved ahead despite as many as 10 wagons getting detached from it at Soro railway station in Odisha’s Balasore district today.

The coal-laden train kept going on the loop line for a few minutes leaving behind the wagons, sources said.

The Jamshedpur (Tata)-bound train returned to the station after a few minutes and began its journey afresh after the wagons were attached to the engine, sources added.

Notably, as many as 294 passengers were killed and 1,200 others left injured in a major mishap involving Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, a stationary goods train and Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express near Bahanaga Bazar railway station in Balasore district on June 2.
