Gourishankar Satapathy, Chittaranjan Dash take oath as new judges of Odisha HC

Cuttack: The newly appointed judges — Gourishankar Satapathy and Chittaranjan Dash — were sworn in as the judges of Orissa High Court.

Chief Justice of Orissa High Court Justice S. Muralidhar administered oath of office to Justice Gourishankar Satapathy and Justice Chittaranjan Dash at a programme on premises of the court here today.

Last month, the Supreme Court Collegium had approved the proposal for elevation of Judicial Officers Gourishankar Satapathy and Chitta Ranjan Dash as judges of the High Court.

Following recommendation, President of India Draupadi Murmu on Friday had appointed Gourishankar Satapathy and Chittaranjan Dash as the new judges of the Orissa High Court.

With this, total number of judges in Orissa High Court rose to 24.
