Govt effects major bureaucratic reshuffle, Rajesh Verma new Secy of Ministry of Corporate Affairs

New Delhi: Odisha cadre Senior IAS officer Rajesh Verma was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He was allocated the new charge during a major IAS reshuffle approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet today. He will replace Injeti Srinivas following the latter’s superannuation on May 31, 2020.

Verma, the 1987 batch Odisha cadre IAS, is currently holding the post of Special Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare.

Another Odisha cadre IAS officer Niten Chandra was appointed as Additional Secretary, Central Agency Section, Department of Legal Affairs. Chandra, the 1990 batch Odisha cadre IAS officer is currently holding the position of Secretary, Central Information Commission, Department of Personnel and Training..

Senior IAS Ravi Kant has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence upon superannuation of the present incumbent Ms. Sanjeevanee Kutty on 30.04.2020.

Anand Kumar is the new Secretary, Ministry of Culture whereas Sanjeev Ranjan has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Shipping.

Pawan Kumar Agarwal, IAS (WB:85), was appointed as Special Secretary (Logistics), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Ravi Mittal is the new Secretary, Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports vice Shri Radheyshyam Julaniya, IAS (MP:85).

Tarun Bajaj, IAS (HY:88), Additional Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office was appointed as Secretary, Department of Economics Affairs, Ministry of Finance upon superannuation of the present incumbent Shri Atanu Chakraborty, IAS (GJ:85) on 30.04.2020;
