Govt initiates process to recruit 7,276 doctors in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare department has urged the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) to initiate the process for the recruitment of as many as 7,276 doctors in Class-A posts in the state.

A few days ago, the state government created 5,000 new posts of Leave Training Reserve Medical Officer (LTRMO) in the rank of Group-A (Junior Branch) of Odisha Medical and Health Services (OMHS) cadre to provide proper healthcare to the people.

The new posts have been created at the District Headquarters Hospitals (DHHs), various Sub-Divisional hospitals, community health centres (CHHs), Capital Hospital and Rourkela Government Hospital, said an official of the Health department.

The Health and Family Welfare department has urged the OPSC to initiate process for the recruitment doctors to the newly-created 5,000 LTRMO posts as well as to fill up the backlog vacancies of 2,276 medical officers in Odisha, said the official.
