Group clash: Bombing, firing leaves 30 injured in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: Hurling of crude bombs and firing during a group clash between villagers of Baghamunda and Sipakuda under Brahmagiri police limits in Odisha’s Puri district today left at least 30 person injured.

According to reports, a face-off erupted between the two groups over construction of a jetty on a patch of government land at Kianasi here. Residents of Sipakuda have been opposing the jetty construction.

Besides bombing and exchange of fire during the clash, several boats were reportedly set on fire. Till last reports came in, police were yet to reach the spot due to ongoing bombing in the area.
