Gun manufacturing unit busted in Odisha’s Nayagarh; youth held

Nayagarh: In a major crackdown, the police today raided a place in Malisahi area of Odisha’s Nayagarh district and arrested a youth for allegedly manufacturing country-made guns.

Acting on reliable information, a team of police officials raided a house of one Kabuli Moharana from Malisahi village late last night. During search the police officials seized items required for manufacturing guns.

Moharana, a carpenter by profession was manufacturing guns after orders were placed with him. A police official said Moharana used to sell the country-made guns at Rs 5,000 each. He was arrested earlier in 2018 on similar charges.

One Sudhir Kumar Behera from Gopinathpur village under Nayagarh Sadar police limits was arrested in February last year on charges of running an arm manufacturing unit.
