Bhubaneswar: The birthday of spiritual guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was celebrated as Maharishi Gyan Yug Diwas here recently.
Speaking on the occasion Principal of Maharishi Vidya Mandir Deepak Kumar Gupta said, “Maharishi Schools are institutions which transform students to make them ideal and organized individuals. The Vedic education imparted in our institution enables our students to lay the foundation of a happy, healthy and peaceful society.”
Maharishi Vidya Mandir chairman Girish Chandra Verma, in his message, said: “I wish you all on the occasion of 101st birth anniversary of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji. He has presented mankind the easiest way of spiritual awakening in the form of transcendental meditation. Its practice in daily life will make one a successful individual.”
Panel discussions and conferences were held on 'Role of Media in Establishing World Peace' at various centres across the globe wherein journalists assured that they would play a catalyst for world peace.
“Teachers should impart quality education so as to keep the students away from mobile phones and other electronic gadgets,” chief guest and Principal of Vikash Residential School Pitambar Das opined.
Chief Speaker Mrutyunjay Kar said that mothers are the first and greatest teachers. So, I would first salute them.
Vikash Residential School, Khandagiri Principal Vijayalakshmi Das also spoke on the occasion.
Ollywood singer Sohini Mishra enthralled the audience with her performance. Cultural programmes, drama and prize giving ceremony was organised to mark the end of the programme.
