Half-charred body of woman recovered in Odisha; Rape suspected

Mayurbhanj: A woman’s partially burnt body has been recovered from a jungle, here.

According to sources, a half-charred rotting body of a woman was found in Pahadpur jungle under Badampahad police limits in Rairangpur area today.

It is suspected that the woman was allegedly raped and then murdered before her body was set afire to eliminate all evidence of the gruesome act.

Furthermore, it is also estimated that crime has been committed two or three days earlier. The police has launched a probe into the case and called for a forensic team from Baripada to collect samples for further investigation.
