Bhubaneswar: The rich fare at world’s biggest international Odia food festival in Dubai included mouth-watering Odia delicacies like mati handi mansha, poi chingudi sukhua, pakhala, dahi baraa aloo dum, mahurali besara, abhada thali, saptapheni, kakara pitha, manda pitha and mudhi mansha.

The Emirates English Speaking School in Safa Park area on Friday was transformed into a mini Odisha with over 500 people flocking to the venue lured by the sweet smell of Odia cuisines wafting through the air.

This was the fifth version of ‘Handishala’, which over the years has become a must-visit for Odia food lovers in the region.

The event being organised by Odisha Samaj of UAE (OSUAE) saw chefs drawn from Odia families residing in UAE exhibiting over 100 authentic dishes.

A professional chef and a prominent Odia food blogger residing in the UAE were the judges for this event.

The OSUAE has always strived to promote the best of Odisha in UAE, be it the rich culture, handicrafts, handloom or culinary heritage, said a spokesperson.
