Cuttack: Trouble escalated for Polasara MLA and former minister Srikanta Sahu as BJD leader Sanjukta Mahala, who had earlier levelled physical and mental harassment allegations against him, moved the Orissa High Court in this connection.

Sanjukta moved the court, asserting that her initial complaint has not prompted any response from the police.

The BJD MLA, Odisha government, Twin City Police Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), and inspector of Mahila Police Station in Bhubaneswar have been made parties in the case.

The petitioner sought the court's direction to ensure proper investigation of the matter.

Previously, Sanjukta had accused the legislator of subjecting her to physical and mental harassment. She lodged a complaint against the lawmaker at the Mahila Police Station in July.
