Hariyali Amavasya is observed on the amavasya (new moon) in the Shravan month of the Hindu calendar.

It comes a day after Shravan Shivratri which falls on the chaturdashi tithi.

Hariyali Amavasya 2022 Date: July 28, Thursday.

Amavasya Tithi Begins: July 27, 2022 9:12 PM.

Amavasya Tithi Ends: July 28, 2022 11:25 PM.

Rituals: On this day, devotees wake up early in the morning, take bath and perform puja to appease the ancestors.

Special meal is prepared and offered to Brahmins.

The festival of Hariyali Amavasya is dedicated to Lord Shiva as devotees worship Him with full devotion and seek His blessings for good rainfall and harvest.

In some regions, people observe fast on this day. Only meal is taken during the day after completing all the puja rituals.
