Odisha HC asks BCI, Utkal Varsity to speed up affiliation of 5-yr LLB Hons course at Cuttack Law College

Cuttack: Orissa High Court (HC) Justice B Rath has issued a notice to Bar Council of India (BCI) and Utkal University directing them to speed up affiliation process of 5-year integrated course for LLB Honours at The Law College here.

Justice Rath issued the order while hearing a petition filed by students of 2015-20 batch of the college.

Earlier, the students had filed a writ petition in the court as they did not get their necessary registration number for enrollment for advocate license.

“During admission, the college claimed that they had proper affiliation. Later, we found out that the college do not have proper affiliation, for which we were not able to enroll for advocate license. With no other option left, we filed the petition,” said a student of the college’s 2015-20 batch.
