Cuttack, Sep 19:
In a major setback to Odisha Private Engineering Colleges Association (OPECA), the Orissa High Court today rejected the former’s plea challenging the state government’s decision to increase the number of seats in government-run engineering colleges.
The OPECA had moved the High Court in July questioning the increase in intake capacity in government engineering colleges for the 2016-2020 batch.
It had alleged that the state government’s decision to increase 1,550 seats in B Tech and 779 in M Tech streams was arbitrary and has been done without the approval of All India Council for Technical Education.
