A headmaster of a school under Lamtaput block in Odisha’s Koraput district allegedly assaulted a senior official in full public view who was on a visit to the school on Thursday.

According to reports, the headmaster of Ankadili UGME School in the district slapped the Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator (CRCC) over disagreement on official issues.

The headmaster identified as Pradipta Kumar Das thrashed CRCC Bhagbat Sahu when the latter had visited the school regarding sending the former on a deputation to another school.

The department decided to shit the headmaster after reports of mismanagement in the school.

Infuriated over the order, Das had an altercation with Sahu followed by the unsavoury incident.

The CRCC filed a complaint with Machkund police station owing which the accused teacher was detained in the police station for interrogation.

Later, he was released on furnishing a personal recognisance (PR) bond, sources added.
