Health awareness grips 12th Raahagiri Day

Bhubaneswar, April 3:

For the upcoming World Health Day on April 7, the 12th edition of Raahagiri day in the capital city of Odisha was celebrated today, focusing on various aspects for a healthy and happy lifestyle.

With  the world experiencing ill-effects of alcohol, drugs, tobacco that leads to depression, schizophrenia and stress that affects the urban population of all age groups,  many city-based organizations had risen to the occasion to create health and de-addiction awareness.

While Nirmala Kruti Bikas Trust (NKBT), a city-based voluntary organization was trying to grab people’s attention to better and healthy living through its live colour art on the road, psychiatrist Dr. Pranab  Mohapatra, faculty of the KIMS, Bhubaneswar, was seen advising the denizens on mental health issues like stress and depression which have become more pronounced these days.

A group of young volunteers carried out a mock funeral ceremony of a drunkard made from hay.
