‘Health workers, pregnant women, senior citizens to get priority during Covid vaccination’

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said health workers, pregnant women and people above 60 years of age will get priority while Covid vaccine will be administered in the State.

He directed officials to prepare a professional, scientific and full proof plan while vaccinating vulnerable people of the society. The database of Covid patients will be quite helpful during vaccination, he added.

During the Covid review meeting through video conference, the Chief Minister said, “We have to be careful keeping in view the second wave in Delhi and the USA and West European countries.”

He informed that the ICU at Covid hospitals have been made functional as the situation might get worse during the winter season.

The Chief Minister also asked officials to ensure that livelihood of people do not get affected.

Also, Patnaik advised the administration to take a decision on conducting Class 10 and Plus II examination in the State on lines with the decisions of the Centre and other State governments.

The Chief Secretary, DGP, Development Commissioner, 5-T Secretary and other senior officials were also present during the review meeting.
