Heart-wrenching: Woman bleeds to death in road mishap before inconsolable kids & husband

Kendrapara: The scene of a road mishap in Kandia area of Kendrapara district was heart-wrenching as three children were screaming near the body of their mother, who died in a road mishap near Lahuni Chhak yesterday.

In a video in possession of Sambad English, one of the children can be seen  crying inconsolably holding her mother’s head in her lap. What was more disheartening is that passersby were standing at the accident site as mute spectators showing no kindness towards the kids. Husband of the deceased Minati Mallik, a resident of Chandbali of Bhadark district, was also crying  at the spot.

Sources said Minati along with her husband and kids had come to Chandbali to visit her family.  While returning to her in-laws’ house at Binjharpur in Jajpur district, the auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling in rammed into bike and later turned turtle. Minati who was sitting on the edge of the auto-rickshaw fell off and suffered grievous injuries. By the time an ambulance reached the spot, the women had bled to death due to grievous head injuries.
