‘Heat stroke’ death reported from Ganjam

Chikiti, Mar 27:

As the summer heat continues to rise across Odisha, an alleged sunstroke death has been reported from Ganjam district on Wednesday after a middle-aged man from Chikiti area succumbed to searing heat on Wednesday.

The body of the unidentified man, aged around 40-42 was found from the roadside along the Chikiti-Digapahandi road on Wednesday afternoon, sources said.

Following information, a team of police of Dhanagara outpost led by OIC Gopalkrushna Padhi rushed to the spot and sent the body for post mortem.

The cause of the death of the deceased would be known after the post mortem, the OIC said.

It may be mentioned that intense heat wave in Ganjam district since two days has made the life of the people miserable.
