Heat wave conditions to prevail for next 2 days in Odisha; Thunderstorm may bring relief

Bhubaneswar: The heat wave conditions may continue in some districts in next two days in Odisha. The thunderstorm is also on the card for several places of the State till May 1.

According to Bhubaneswar MeT, there will be no change in maximum (day) temperature in next two-three days in several parts of Odisha. The temperature may slightly decrease after April 28 by around 2 degree in coastal parts of the State.

The IMD issued thunderstorm warning for some districts till May 1.

Here’s forecast and warning for next five days:

Day 1 (valid from 1.30 pm of April 26 till 8.30 am of April 27)

Forecast: Light rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Yellow Warning: Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Khordha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Day 2 (valid from 8.30 am of April 27 till 8.30 am of April 28)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.

Yellow Warning: Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at a one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Khordha and Dhenkanal.

Day 3 (valid from 8.30 am of April 28 till 8.30 am of April 29)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam,Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Cuttack.

Thunderstorm warning for April 29, 2021
Day 4 (valid from 8.30 am of April 29 till 8.30 am of April 30)

Forecast: Moderate rain or thundershower alert issued for the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Gajapati.

Forecast: Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur,Nuapada, Boudh, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Angul,Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal.

Thunderstorm warning for May 1, 2021

Yellow Warning : Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Boudh, Angul, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal.
