Bhubaneswar: Heat wave has reduced significantly across Odisha with many parts of the state receiving rainfall.
Due to interaction of middle dry westerly with lower-level moisture laden winds from Bay of Bengal, meteorological conditions are becoming favourable for moderate thunderstorm activity with lightning, hail, heavy rain, gusty surface wind and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over the districts of Odisha, the Meteorological Centre here said.
It has forecasted that several districts of Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorm/ heavy rainfall today.
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH and heavy rainfall very likely to occur over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Kandhamal, the Meteorological Centre predicted and issued Orange Warning for these districts.
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH very likely to occur over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, and Koraput, it added and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.
