Heat wave relents in Odisha

People of Odisha heaved a sigh of relief from the gruelling heat wave as the mercury slumped considerably in most parts of the state today.

The temperature in the capital city of Bhubaneswar, which had gone up to 41.8 degree Celsius on Sunday, came down to a modest 37.4 degree today.

Talcher recorded the highest temperature of 41.2 degree in the state today while the mercury rose to 40 degrees and above in Bhawanipatna (41), Bolangir (40), Titlagarh (41)and Malkangiri (40.4) districts.

The Met office has predicted rain and thundershowers at some places in coastal areas with thunder squall, accompanied by hail and gusty surface wind, at one or two places in the next 48 hours.
