Bhubaneswar: Heat wave conditions worsened in Odisha as the mercury crossed 44°C mark in the capital city, today.

As per the Regional Meteorological Centre here, Bhubaneswar recorded maximum temperature of 44.4 degree Celsius at around 2.30 PM.

Similarly, maximum temperature of 44.6 degree Celsius in Jharsuguda, 44.4 degree Celsius in Sambalpur and 40 degree Celsius in Keonjhar was recorded during the same time.

The situation is likely to worsen in the coming days as the Meteorological Centre forecasted that there will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during the next 4 days.

It is likely to be above normal by 4-7 degree Celsius at a few places over the districts of Odisha during the next 4 days, it predicted.

The Meteorological Centre has issued heat wave warning for several districts of Odisha for tomorrow.

Heat wave to severe heat wave condition very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bargarh and Sonepur, it said and issued Orange Warning for these districts.

Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khurda and Nuapada, it said and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.
