Heatwave continues in Odisha; warning issued for next 24 hours

Bhubaneswar: Odisha continues to reel under scorching heat and extreme humidity. The IMD predicted severe heatwave in several places during next 24 hours.

According to Bhubaneswar MeT, the heatwave conditions likely to prevail in the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Balangir, Boudh, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.

As there will be no large change in day temperature during next five days across the state, the heatwave will continue at coastal belt till 3-4 days. The maximum temperature may increase by 3-5 degree Celsius in many places during the period.

The extreme humidity still continues in Bhubaneswar. The city recorded 32.2 degree C maximum temperature and 79% humidity by 8.30 am today.

Similarly, the humidity was 86% in Puri, 76% in Cuttack, 75% in Gopalpur, 65% in Balasore and Chandbali and 63% in Paradeep in the morning.
