Heatwave grips Odisha, Talcher reels at 46.3 deg C

Bhubaneswar: Heatwave conditions continue to prevail across Odisha as 14 places in the state experienced maximum temperature of above 40 degree Celsius today.

Highest temperature of the day was recorded in Talcher (46.3), followed by Titlagarh (44.5), Jharsuguda (43.2), Angul (43.1), Sambalpur (43), Balangir (43), Bhawanipatna (42.5), Hirakud (41.9), Phulbani (41.8), Sonepur (41.6), Malkangiri (41.5), Sundargarh (41), Keonjhar (40.6) and Chandbali (40.5).

The Regional Meteorological Centre today issued heatwave condition warning for several districts. The districts where intense heatwave condition is likely prevail during the next two days are Nabarangpur, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur and Bargarh.
