Heatwave: Morning classes in Odisha schools from April 2

Bhubaneswar: The schools across Odisha have been asked to hold morning classes from April 2 due to the prevailing heatwave condition in the state.

The state government has asked all primary, secondary and higher secondary schools to hold morning classes from April 2.

The School and Mass Education department wrote to the concerned authorities of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas, Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), OSEPA, MDM programme and TE & SCERT in this regard today.

The classes for students from Class I to Class XII in all government, government aided and privately managed schools will be held from 7 am to 11.30 am from April 2, said the department in the letter.

Besides, the schools have been asked to arrange safe drinking water and ORS packets for their students.

However, the S&ME department has authorized the district Collectors to modify the school timing on the basis of the weather situation.
