Heatwave returns to Odisha as mercury crosses 39 Degree C at 10 places

Bhubaneswar: After a brief gap, the heatwave condition returned to Odisha as mercury crossed 39 Degree Celsius at 10 places in the state today.

The south Odisha town of Paralakhemundi recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40.5 Degree C in the state today, said the IMD in its weather bulletin.

At least nine places in the state–Chandbali, Bhubaneswar, Baripada, Bhawanipatna, Malkangiri, Nayagarh, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara—recorded the maximum temperature in between 39 Degree C and 40 Degree C today.

Similarly, altogether 11 places in the state–Balasore, Cuttack, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Talcher, Titlagarh, Jajpur, Naupada, Khurda and Rourkela—recorded the maximum temperature in between 38 Degree C and 39 Degree C, said the IMD.
