Heatwave to grip Odisha for two more days

Bhubaneswar: With the Southwest monsoon that hit Kerala after on June 8 likely to arrive late in Odisha by a week, the weathermen have predicted that heatwave will continue to sweep many places across the State for two more days.

As per a bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here, heatwave condition will continue to prevail across the state on June 12 and 13. The day temperature is likely to rise in western belts like Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.

The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has advised people residing in these areas to stay indoors during day time on the days.

Meanwhile, the MeT centre has predicted nor’wester rain in southern parts of the state today.
