Heatwave: Yellow warning for these Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: With the heatwave condition prevailing in large parts of Odisha, yellow warning has been issued for at least five districts including Khordha for today.

According to Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre, heatwave condition is very likely to prevail at one two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Khordha and Nayagarh.

The day temperature is likely to rise by 3 to 5 degree Celsius at many places in interior part of Odisha from today.

Bhubaneswar became the hottest place with the mercury touching over 40 degree Celsius since April 22.

Yesterday, total six places recorded 40 degree Celsius or above it in the State. While Bhubaneswar recorded 43 degree Celsius, the places included Jharsuguda recorded 41.4 degree Celsius followed by Sambalpur with 40.8 degree Celsius, Chandbali 40.8 degree Celsius, Hirakud and Keonjhar 40 degree Celsius.
