Heavy rain disrupts road traffic on Rayagada-Bhawanipatna route

Rayagada: Vehicular communication between Rayagada and Bhawanipatna has been disrupted with the connecting bridge on the state highway over Bansadhara river in Ambadala being flooded with five-feet of rain water today.

Hundreds of vehicles, including school buses were stranded on both sides of the bridge due to  waterlogging till last reports came in. Besides, rain water has also engulfed shops and several officers in Ambadala market putting the local residents in much difficulty. Several houses in the districts have been inundated with knee-deep water.

Sources said the water level of various rivers in Rayagada district has risen due to heavy rain in the entire district for the last two days.
