Heavy rain to lash many parts of Odisha for 5 days

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall and thunderstorm may lash several parts of Odisha for five days, said a bulletin issued by Bhubaneswar MeT today.

Day 1 (valid from today upto 8.30 am of June 29)

Warning: The regional meterological centre issued yellow warning for the districts included Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj, where heavy rainfall likely to occur today. Also, thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Rayagada, Dhenkanal Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Koraput, Balangir.

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts in Odisha.

Day 2 (valid from 8.30 am of June 29 to 8.30 am of June 30):

Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Jharsuguda and Bargarh.

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Odisha and at a few places over the districts of South Odisha during the period.

Day 3 (valid from 8.30 am of June 30 to 8.30 am of July 1):

Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Nuapada, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Rayagada.

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 4 (valid from 8.30 am of June 1 to 8.30 am of July 2):

Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Nuapada, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangpur and Koraput.

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

Day 5 (valid from 8.30 am of July 2 to 8.30 am of July 3):

Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Gajapati. Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Puri, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Sambalpur, Gajapati and Ganjam.

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Meanwhile, the heavy rainfall is on the cards for next 24 hours in many districts. The heavy rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj. The thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Rayagada, Dhenkanal Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Koraput and Balangir between today and tomorrow.
