Heavy rainfall likely in these Odisha districts on July 17

Bhubaneswar: The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha on July 17 (Monday).

Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-Gangetic West Bengal coasts, a low pressure area has formed over north Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal & Jharkhand. Associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid tropospheric levels tilting south-westwards with height persists. It is likely to moves westnorthwestwards across Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh during next two days.

The low pressure area is very likely to trigger heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Sonepur, Deogarh, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi and Bargarh on July 17.

Besides, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri and at many places over the remaining districts of Odisha on July 17, said the IMD in its weather bulletin today.
