Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to receive heavy rainfall today as the Regional Meteorological Centre here issued warning in this regard.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Angul and Sambalpur, the Meteorological Centre predicted and issued Orange Warning for these districts.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Bargarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Koraput, the Meteorological Centre forecasted and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.

On the other hand, a low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal around tomorrow, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

"A cyclonic circulation lies over northeast & adjoining eastcentral Bay of Bengal in middle tropospheric levels tilting southwards with height. Under its influence a low pressure area is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood around 18th August 2023," the agency said in its morning bulletin today.
