Bhubaneswar: Due to the formation of a Low Pressure Area and as Southwest monsoon is active over Odisha, Heavy rainfall is likely to batter at least 12 districts during next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre today issued Yellow Warning for the next 2 days.

“Under the influence of strong monsoon flow and a Low Pressure Area over north Chhattisgarh and its neighbourhood, squally weather with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph is very likely to prevail along and off Odisha Coast and Northwest Bay of Bengal (BoB) during next 24 hours. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea along and off Odisha Coast and Northwest Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours,” a mid-day bulletin of the IMD mentioned.

The highest maximum temperature of 32.0oC was recorded at Chandbali and Chhatrapur and the lowest minimum temperature of 19.2oC was recorded at Nabarangpur in the plains of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Sonepur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Balasore.

For Wednesday (valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 28.06.2023 to 0830 Hrs IST of 29.06.2023)

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.
