Heavy Rainfall: Red Warning for 9 Odisha dists today

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued Red Warning for heavy rainfall in 9 districts of Odisha today due to the low pressure area over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy rain at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Boudh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, and Deogarh, the Meteorological Centre forecasted and issued Red Warning for the districts.

Likely Impact:
1-Waterlogging and flash flood in some places.
2-Some damage to informal road and kutcha house.
3-Traffic congestion and disruption of municipal services due to waterlogging in urban areas.
4-Landslides in hilly areas.

Orange Warning:  Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Angul, Nuapada, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal and Keonjhar.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Malkangiri, Koraput, Cuttack and Jajpur.
