Heavy rains: Emergency centres in 7 Odisha dists put on alert

Bhubaneswar: As heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Odisha today and weather conditions are likely to remain similar during next two days, the Special Relief Commissioner has directed Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs) of seven districts to operate round the clock.

EOCs of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Bhadrak and Ganjam districts have been put on alert and the concerned officials will inform about the situation to the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) from time to time.

The SRC has advised the collectors of the districts to keep administrative machinery fully prepared to meet any possible flood/water logging situation that may arise due to intense rainfall.
