Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to lash several parts of Odisha till August 2, said the IMD in its weather bulletin today.
Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining north Odisha, a low pressure area has formed over the region, said the IMD.
Several districts of Odisha may witness heavy to very heavy rainfall till August 2 under the influence of the low pressure area, added the IMD while issuing an Orange warning in this regard.
July 30: As per the IMD forecast, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal on July 30.
Similarly, one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jajpur, Puri, Angul, Deogarh, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh and Khurda may witness heavy rainfall on the day. The IMD has issued a Yellow warning in this regard.
Besides, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha on July 30, said the IMD.
July 31: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to lash Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Angul, Jagatsinghpur and Dhenkanal district on July 31. The IMD has issued an Orange warning for these districts.
Besides, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Khurda, Sambalpur, Kendrapara, Ganjam, Puri, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bargarh and Nuapada on July 31, said the MeT department while issuing a Yellow warning in this regard.
This apart, most places across Odisha may witness light to moderate rain or thundershower on the day, added the weather bulletin.
August 1: The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapara, Angul, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Jajpur and Bhadrak on August 1 and issued an Orange warning accordingly.
As per the forecast, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Khurda and Nuapada on the day.
Besides, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha on August 1.
August 2: The IMD has issued an Orange warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi and Kandhamal on August 2.
Similarly, districts like Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangapur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nuapada, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Balasore may witness heavy rainfall on the day.
Besides, most places across Odisha are very likely to witness light to moderate rain or thundershower on August 2, said the IMD.
