Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent low pressure area and cyclonic circulation, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over 17 districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar today issued Orange Warning in some districts for next 24 hours and Yellow Warning for three days thereafter.
In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre said, “The low pressure area over Northwest and its adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 Km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height persists. It is very likely to move nearly westwards across south Odisha and south Chhattisgarh during next 24 hours. The western end of monsoon trough runs along the foothills of the Himalayas and its eastern end now passes through Najibabad, Lucknow, Satna, Raipur and thence southeastwards to the centre of low pressure area over Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts.”
