Bhubaneswar: Drivers of buses, trucks and other heavy vehicles will get tea free of cost on National Highways (NHs) in Odisha, said State Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu today.
The State Government will make arrangements in this regard in order to keep the drivers fresh with an aim of reducing road mishaps on NHs, the minister said.
"The drivers can avail tea free of cost from roadside hotels and dhabas on NHs. Besides, they can also have rest there. District Collectors will identify the hotels and dhabas for the facility," said Sahu.
"Most of the accidents take place on NHs in the wee hours as the drivers fall asleep. The State Government has decided to avoid such situations by providing them refreshment in the form of tea," she added.
