HelpAge India, Odisha branch organised a two-day signature campaign in the capital city here today as part of its awareness campaign among the people on eve of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15.
The young volunteers moved round the city carrying placards and distributing leaflets among the while people urging them to respect and love the elders in their family and encourage the senior citizens to raise their voice against the abuse of the elders.
Twin city police commissioner Dr RP Sharma flagged off the signature campaign at the Police Commissionerate office.
Among others, Rashmi Mohanty, state head, HelpAge India, Krupasindhu Sahoo, president and Jugal Kishore Sahoo, secretary of Federation of Senior Citizens’ Association of Odisha and staff and volunteers of HelpAge were present.
