In a new twist in Odisha politics, former chief minister and Congress veteran Hemananda Biswal's two brothers joined Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday after meeting the conch party's supremo and CM Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas here.
As many as 60 Congress workers of Kirimira block in Jharsuguda district accompanied with the two brothers– Bihari Biswal and Khirod Biswal– also joined BJD.
"Sri Bihari Chandra Biswal and Sri Khirod Chandra Biswal, brothers of Sri Hemananda Biswal, along with their 60 followers of the Congress party from Jharsuguda Assembly constituency have joined the Biju Janata Dal today. Their joining will strengthen the party. I welcome them," the Chief Minister said.
