Bargarh: With just two days left for the bypoll to Bijepur Assembly Constituency in Odisha, the district administration has made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the election.
As many as 285 polling stations have been set up for the bye-election scheduled on October 21, out of which 135 booths have been identified as sensitive. The security will be tightened at these sensitive booths, informed Bargarh Collector Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan today.
According to reports, six model booths will be set up in 3 blocks in Bijepur for the bypoll. The authorities will ensure electronic surveillance at 14 polling stations.
The Election Commission has arranged for live webcast from 28 booths. While 16 booths will be videographed, micro-observers will be deployed at 77 booths.
A total of 2,32,264 voters has been enlisted for the election, out of which 1,12,114 women, 1,20,135 men and 10 transgenders.
Special provisions will be made for 2,750 Divyang voters to exercise their franchise.
Total 2,321 vehicles will be engaged for the poll in Bijepur.
