Here’re details of new COVID-19 cases in Odisha’s Twin City

Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: Out of 304 COVID-19 fresh cases, the highest spike in a single day, 4 cases have been reported from Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in last 24 hours.

In Bhubaneswar, one local contact case was found positive for COVID-19 in Niladri Vihar area under Chandrasekharpur police limits.

The 73-year-old man of Niladri Vihar in Chandrasekharpur area is currently under treatment in a private hospital. He is linked with an earlier positive case, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today.

Following the new cases, further contact tracing is underway. The primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised. The place will be under active surveillance, the BMC tweeted.

With this, the COVID-19 tally in Bhubaneswar surged to 185 with 88 active cases.

Meanwhile, 7 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease in Bhubaneswar today.

Here’re details of recovered cases in Bhubaneswar:
  • One case: 4-year-old boy of Krishna Vihar, Patrapada area
  • One case: 29-year-old male of New Forest Park
  • One case: 47-year-old male of Unit-5 near 120 Battalion
  • One case: 29-year-old male of Subash Nagar slum in Dumduma
  • Two cases: 30-year-old and 31-year-old women near AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Patrapada
  • One case: 25-year-old female, a student of Central Govt. Hospital

With fresh recoveries, the number of recovered cases in Bhubaneswar now stands at 93. However, the city reported 3 deaths due to COVID-19 so far.

Meanwhile, out of 13 COVID-19 new positive cases reported today in Cuttack district, 3 cases belong to Cuttack city, informed Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).

Of three cases tested positive in last 24 hours, 2 cases have been detected from paid quarantine centres and remaining 1 is a local contact.

The two cases included a 31-year-old woman with recent travel history to Mumbai and another is a 42-year-old male with recent travel history to Mumbai.

The local case is a 65-year-old man from Cantonment Road with recent travel history to Cuttack from Delhi and other district.

All of them have been moved to designated COVID hospital for treatment, the CMC said.

Following detection of fresh cases in the city, the contact tracing and sanitisation of areas are being carried out.

With new cases, COVID-19 tally in Cuttack city rose to 29 with 8 active cases and 21 recoveries. The city reports zero fatality so far.
