New Delhi: The Archaeological Survey of lndia (ASI) today released a list of monuments and sites where fee will not be charged on specified dates.
In an order, the Director General of ASI stated no fee shall be charged at protected monuments and archaeological sites and remains specified in the Second Schedule of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Rules, 1959. This order will be effective till March 31, 2023.
Here’s the list of the specified dates for different monuments and sites
International Women's Day – All protected monuments and sites – March 8
World Heritage Day - All protected monuments and sites – April 18
World Heritage Week celebration - All protected monuments and sites – November 19
Annual Fair Day – Sun Temple, Modhera in Gujarat – Last day of Shravan month, one day as per panchang
Holi Festival – Lord Adinathji Temple, Kangra in Himachal Pradesh – Four days including Holi as per panchang
Dussehra Festival - Aurangbad Caves in Maharashtra – one day as per panchang
Maghi Ganesh Utsav – Kolaba in Alibag Fort in Maharashtra – two days as per panchang
Shivajayanti – Raigad Fort in Maharashtra – two days as per panchang
Makar Sankranti Mela – Group of monuments Amarkantak, Anuppur in Madhya Pradesh – two days during January as per panchang
Sanchi Mahotsav – Buddhist Stupa, Sanchi in Madhya Pradesh – One day as per panchang
Akshaya Navami/Udayagiri Parikrama Festival – Udayagiri Caves, Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh – one day as per panchang
Samba Dashmi Mela - Sun Temple, Konark in Odisha – One day as per panchang
Magha Saptmi Mela – Sun Temple, Konark in Odisha – two days as per panchang
Raja Rani Music festival – Raja Rani Temple in Bhubaneswar in Odisha – three days during the month of January as per calendar year
Mukteswar Dance Festival – Mukteswar Temple in Bhubaneswar in Odisha – two days during the month of January as per calendar year
Ashada Jathara and Bonalu Festival – Mahakali Temple, Golconda Fort in Telangana – Twice in a week i.e. Thursday and Sunday as per panchang
Karthik Purnima Mela – Kalinjar Fort in Banda in Uttar Pradesh – two days as per panchang
Mahashivratri Festival – Kalinjar Fort in Banda in Uttar Pradesh – One day as per panchang
Celebration of Shahjahan Urs – Taj Mahal, Agra in Uttar Pradesh – three days as per lunar date
