Bhubaneswar, Jul 27:

Remember the girl in the reality show 'Voice of India' on a national television channel who made headlines for quitting her high paying job in Google, to pursue her hobby of singing? She is Pragyan Patra from Bhubaneswar, who has now lent her voice to an Australian movie titled The Colour of Darkness directed by Girish Makwana.

And believe it or not, she auditioned for the playback through a preliminary voice recording via Whatsapp!

"It all began when Nandan Jha of Placing Dreams, a production company, put me in touch with filmmaker Girish Makwana who was looking for a fresh voice that could render a semi-classical song for his movie. I met him and he described that he wanted a high-pitched voice that could do justice to the fabric of this song in Hindi. He was patient and kind enough to let me mentally prepare. And I sung a version of the song and sent him a Whatsapp recording as a sample," said a 25-year-old Pragya.

"He was impressed with my treatment to the song and we recorded it in November 2015. "
