H&FW dept enhances stipend of house surgeons in government medical colleges of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department increased the stipend of house surgeons in government medical colleges of Odisha, a notification issued in this regard said today.

House surgeons in these medical colleges are presently receiving a stipend as per letter No-2744/H dated January 29, 2021, of the department. On careful consideration of the grievances of house surgeons for an increase in their stipends, the State government was pleased to implement a dynamic stipend in favour of the house surgeons @ 50% of the current remuneration paid to Assistant Surgeons under OMHS cadre on their entry into Govt service+DA as admissible, the H&FW circular stated.

“This enhancement will come into force with immediate effect,” the official communiqué clarified.

This has been concurred by the Finance Department in their file No-FIN-SOS3-BT-0045-2017.

Some of the government medical colleges in Odisha are Sri Jagannath Medical College & Hospital in Puri, SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack, Santha Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital in Bolangir, Government Medical College & Hospital in Balasore, Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Burla, MKCG Medical College & Hospital in Berhampur, Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College & Hospital in Koraput, Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College & Hospital in Baripada, Government Medical College in Keonjhar, Government Medical College in Sundargarh and Government Medical College in Bhawanipatna.
